Meet Our Team
Jeff Trinh – Owner and General Manager
After growing up in the construction industry with his father’s business in Charleston, South Carolina, Jeff earned a BS in Business Administration and MBA from The Citadel. He then went on to an 18-year corporate finance career working in textiles and trucking for Burlington Industries and the Volvo Group. His passion for quality and customer service led him to open Storm Guard’s 24th franchise location serving the Piedmont Triad and surrounding areas. He and his wife Barbara reside in Winston-Salem with their two daughters (Chloe and Millie) and one son (Eliott). Outside of work, he serves as the deacon of children’s ministry at South Fork Church of Christ and frequently volunteers as coach of youth sports teams. He enjoys playing soccer, running, and most of all spending time with his family.
Brooks Boswell – Production Manager
As the Production Manager, Brooks has a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction, quality of work, and timely completion of projects. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production—scheduling projects, ordering materials, communicating with customers, managing and moving crews, conducting site visits, and serving as a major point of contact for everyone involved in the production process. Brooks has almost 21 years’ experience in residential construction and remodeling! Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, Brooks moved to North Carolina approximately four years ago, and he currently resides in the Triad with his family. When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and kayaking. A few years back he also spent time doing missionary work in Uganda.
Ed Ballard – Project Manager
As the Assistant Production Manager at Storm Guard, Ed is focused on making sure all jobs go as smoothly as possible. You can find him on jobsites as a liaison between our skilled tradesmen and our clients. In addition, he supports the Storm Guard team as our fleet and equipment manager. He occasionally runs sales leads, leveraging his 45 plus years of construction experience to create solution proposals that meet our clients’ needs. Ed Moved to North Carolina from New Mexico in 1969, where he was a Navy Brat. He is a Grandpa to six grandchildren. Ed also served in the Navy from 1973 to 1979 where he was an aviation ordnanceman AO3 on board the USS Midway CVA 41. The boat he served on is now a Museum in San Diego, California. After getting out of the Navy, Ed attended South Seattle Community College and studied Business Administration and Construction Management. He served a five-year apprenticeship in the wood flooring industry and became a master craftsman after that. Ed has many hobbies including hunting, fishing, camping, building cornhole boards, gardening, and doing yardwork,
Jada Alvarez – Office Administrator
As the Office Administrator at Storm Guard, Jada is responsible for office and job file management in addition to billing and accounts receivable for our branch. She interacts regularly with our clients and serves as a key customer advocate during the course of their project. She has 15+ years of experience assisting customers in an office environment. She is originally from NY, but has lived in Florida, California, and North Carolina. She is a proud Dominican and can assist our Spanish community. Jada has a beautiful 2-year-old daughter, and she prides herself to be a great Mom. In her free time, Jada likes to listen to music, read books, and help whoever she can.
Ross Wilburn – Financial Administrator
As the Financial Administrator, Ross is responsible for various accounting activities along with financial reporting and analysis. Ross graduated from Harding University where he majored in both Finance and Accounting. His hobbies include reading and going to church. Ross was born in Haiti.
Our sales team is the first point of contact for our clients and serves as the face of our company. Their role is to assess client needs, educate, and propose the best solutions to address those needs. They are split into two areas of expertise:
- Our Storm Damage Specialists are trained and experienced at assessing properties for storm damage and assisting property owners through the insurance process when applicable
- Our Sales Specialists are versed with the latest in construction solutions that will update a “tired” property and bring it back to life.
Maciej Sliwinski – Sales Manager
Maciej holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Iona College and a Masters Degree in Sports Management from St. Johns University. His professional career centers on coaching and running the business side of soccer at the intercollegiate level at three different universities, most recently at Elon University. Maciej is recently married and will reside in Greensboro with his wife Emily.
Nick Means – Sales ׀ Business Development ׀ Property Inspector
From the time he was raised in the small town of Yadkinville, NC to attending college at UNC Charlotte and East Carolina University in Greenville as well as traveling abroad, Nick has had the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life. As a people person and not knowing exactly what to major in initially at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Nick decided to pursue a degree in Sociology. Over his four years at UNC Charlotte, Nick worked in the restaurant industry and quickly developed a passion and gift to deliver exceptional customer service. He knows how frustrating it is when you go out, spend your hard-earned money, only to be met with either rude staff or lazy and slow service without a smile. The passion for providing guests with an exceptional experience developed during those moments serving guests in restaurants throughout Charlotte spurred Nick to continue his education by enrolling in the Hospitality Management program at East Carolina University. After graduation, Nick continued in the hospitality industry working in catering companies, hotels and restaurants including Morrison Food Service at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte managing the kitchen and front of house staff.
Through the Winston Salem Jaycees, a leadership training and civic organization for people between the ages of 18 and 40, Nick met his wife and became acquainted with Storm Guard through a mutual connection. He has been here since 2015 helping hundreds of clients navigate through entire insurance restoration process. He has 13 years experience in customer service, sales, and hospitality management.

Phillip Martins De Sa – Sales Consultant & Property Inspector
Phillip was born in Brazil and moved to the area three years ago with his family. In Brazil, he went to a theological seminary, SAET. Prior to coming to America, he was a Pastor in charge of the youth ministry in Campinas, Brazil. Since coming to America, he has worked in the sales field for various industries. Phillip is the father of two beautiful twin girls and an amazing little boy. He enjoys spending most of his time with his kids. In his free time, he likes to play soccer, eat good food or read a good book and attend church regularly.
Mike Howard – Sales Consultant & Property Inspector
Mike grew up in the construction industry with his father who was a commercial plumber. Mike chose to start his career in the restaurant industry. He was able to work his way into various leadership opportunities including corporate level and even ownership of a franchise. In more recent years, Mike got back into the construction field where he was the outside sales representative for a concrete company. Mike is a father of two sons and a daughter, who he and his wife adopted through foster care. Mike and his wife have actually been on the journey of being foster parents for 5 years. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and spending time outside with the family, fishing, golfing, and bike rides.
Justin Rhodes – Sales Consultant & Property Inspector
During his professional career, Justin has been a church pastor, worked for the food industry as a restaurant manager, driving instructor, and a licensed insurance agent with Allstate. Justin has recently relocated back to the Piedmont Triad from Waynesburg, PA. He and his wife reside in Kernersville with their four children. During his free time, he teaches music and vocal lessons and also enjoys sports and video games.
Tabatha Wright – Sales | Marketing
Tabatha has spent most of her career in management and leadership both in the financial and healthcare industry. After some time, she decided to blend her experience and develop into a marketing management role building relationships through networking and managing events, social media, community development, and supporting the sales processes to enhance growth. She spent the last year getting to know industries like Restoration, Plumbing, Roofing, Construction, and Insurance. As her knowledge of these industries have grown, and it became clear to her that there is a need for these services. She wanted to join a team where she could use her skills and experience to learn how she can help to enhance and grow these industries while providing needs to a striving team and the clients it serves.
Brian McCarthy – Sales Consultant & Property Inspector
After recently serving as a job foreman for a local Construction Company, Brian spent six years as a Communications Sergeant and Team Leader in the US Army. Brian lives in East Bend with his wife and two-year-old son and one-year-old daughter. He loves to watch movies and can quote many of them but he also enjoys spending time working on home DIY projects.
